I really enjoyed this book. It is full of adventure and a little bit of mystery. His last name is Stanley backwards which I think is a really nice touch that the author has put in, it adds to story telling and the character of Stanley. In the beginning of the story Stanley is sent to camp green lake – which has no lake and is not green.

This is an amazing novel about a boy who is accused of being a thief and is sent to an installation for child offenders. Here you have to dig a hole every day in the burning heat with very little water to drink. Stanley, the main character, has the family curse which causes him to never have any luck. He befriends a boy nicknamed Zero, who mysteriously goes missing. That is when the interesting things begin to happen…

This book was very interesting and cruel. The interesting thing was that there was three Stanley Yelnats (Yelnats is the opposite of Stanley). The cruel thing is they have to dig holes every day and mr sir is very strict on every one and everything especially WATER!!!?????
