The aunts are really nasty but the insects are all James’ friends.

James and The giant peach I sort of a boring book because it all feels fake and not real

James and the giant peach is really funny how they got all the insects in the peach and then James just falls through a hole.

I like the exciting journey the peach goes on and the best bit is when James gets to live in the peach stone house at the end surrounded by new friends.

Another good Roald Dahl book. It was such a clever idea to attach the peach to all the seagulls. They had such an adventure up in the clouds and it was very weird when they saw cloud men.

The book is about a small boy who parents die by a rhino before they can take him to New York . He get stuck with his mean aunties.Until an unexpected amazing event happens. Will his dreams come true?

This probably ties for first place as my favourite Dahl book (along with Fantatsic Mr Fox and Esiotrot!) What an amazing idea – to journey inside a giant peach all the way to New York! I think my favourite part of the book is Dahl’s description of the magic ‘crocodile tongues’ working their way into the ground and enchanting the peach tree. I remember finding the Cloud-Men really spooky and mysterious.
