  1. Leo Trelfer says:

Leo, age almost 5. I didn’t like the Doubtful guest because he was doing naughty things.

  2. Alfred Enock-Brown says:

I didn’t really understand this book but liked the idea of the people finding a strange creature outside their house.

  3. Leo Hales says:

I thought this book was a bit strange but I liked the part when the guest lay in front of the door and also that it hid things in funny places.

  4. Agnes Milne says:

I did not understand this book at all but I thought that the drawings were very good.

  5. llincoln says:

This is a very funny book about a strange creature who comes to a family’s house and stays there for 17 years

  6. Oscar Freeman says:

I like the little weird guy sneaking into the house and stealing the towels and throwing the watch into the pond. I would like a guy like that in my house.

  7. Caelan Freeman-Walshe says:

He drops people’s things into the pond to protect them but it doesn’t really. I wonder why he doesn’t speak.

  8. Henry Roberts says:

It was weird that the guest hid everywhere and did funny things like drop stuff in the pond. I wouldn’t like a guest like that in my house, it would just mess stuff up. I doubt this is real.

  9. Caleb Ng Hong Ti says:

Words are too small and pictures are only in black and white. I don’t quite understand

  10. krian says:

I really liked it because the Penguin was so cheeky and I laughed my socks off!

I liked it when the guest just came in. It was crazy. I liked it when they found him in the tureen.

I thought this was a very confusing yet well written book. I didn’t get what was happening.

    1. ibuglione says:

I agree but even though it is confusing it is still nice

  16. Mr Milne says:

A ‘doubtful’ guest arrives and causes a series of bizarre and surreal inconveniences in an austere, aristocratic country mansion of years gone by. The strange and unnerving guest seems to be tolerated by the residents of the mansion. The guest becomes increasingly perverse and despondent, but – 17 years later – shows no sign of leaving. I love this book although I’ve not really the slightest idea what it’s about. Can you help?
