A magical wardrobe, talking animals and a scary witch.

  2. bburt says:

the lion the witch and the wardrobe is a really magical and funny adventure but its quite old fashioned with some strange old langue but its about these children who go through a magic wardrobe into a magic land and meet new friends and people I really recommend this book for any age group and personality.

  3. rhogan says:

I really like this book and I think lots more people should read it. The film is really good but you can get much more information in the book! When I was little my mum read this to me and I thought of it as the most magical thing ever ?

  4. fkirkwood says:

This is a book of adventurer, bravery and loyalty

  5. claque says:

This book is about a little girl who goes through a wardrobe and enters Narnia. In Narnia she goes on adventures but her siblings don’t believe her. I enjoyed this book but it is not my favourite.

  6. fpatten says:

This is a great book about some children who are sent to the country side during the war and are looked after by a man and lady. The children , when in the house , find a little room containing a wardrobe. The three of them find out that the big oak cupboard leads to another world – Narnia.here a evil witch rules and bewitches this magical land to always be winter. They have to stop her but how. I recommend this book to anyone.

  7. llincoln says:

I really like this book. It is really magical and I love it when they go through the magic wardrobe to Narnia. Narnia is a magical world where it is always winter but it is never Christmas.

  8. Mr Milne says:

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is the first published of the seven Chronicles of Narnia – The Magician’s Nephew precedes it chronologically but most people think the books should be read in the order they were written and published and I agree. The books are uneven, and I understand why some people don’t like certain things about the Chronicles (Philip Pullman called Narnia “one of the most ugly, poisonous things I have ever read”), but in my opinion there is something undeniably great about them, flowing from the Narnian world and story and mythology and the many richly imaginative and evocative passages of writing. Aslan’s song bringing Narnia to life, in the Magician’s Nephew, and passages of the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, when they near the edge of the world, stick in my mind – but there is so much in these books, of which I remember only a little, I hope I will get the chance to read them again before too long.

  9. cburt says:

    An astounding read, simply perfect.

  10. tbarkar says:

I listened to this book as an audiobook. If I ever came across Aslan I would ask him about a million questions about Narnia. I always wish it was real. I like the character of Peter because he cares for other people. As it is world book day I am dressing up as Peter. The beavers are very friendly. I think lots of people that like nature and care for animals will like this book. Mr Tumnus is a very kind and generous fawn. In the book there are lots of talking animals and mythical creatures. I even know the nickname for Lucy it is Lu. Grown ups and children will enjoy this fantastic book. Everyone ought to read all the series. My three favourites ones are: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Horse and His Boy and The Last Battles. I really really really think that Narnia is an amazing world. Every day I wake up I listen to one of the Narnia Tales. I wish he had written a million more books but I don’t want to put more pressure on him and he is dead – just to tell you!

    1. Mr Milne says:

Thanks for writing such great comments Theodore. As well as the books you mention, I remember particularly enjoying The Magician’s Nephew and also The Voyage of the Dawn Treader – more importantly, you make me want to read (or listen to) the whole of the Chronicles of Narnia again! Mr Milne

    2. keley says:

This book is amazing I thing is is amazing because I love the fact that there is something more to just an ordinary wardrobe. But is is an ordinary wadrobe.NO. It has the lion (aslan) the witch of snow and all the other animals and creatures!

  12. msiepert says:

,It starting out with a war is quite sad -but it gets happier and happier along the way also the only sad bit is that the lion is about to die 1-chance and he’s dead anyway what about when the youngest one yet born find’s about the winterwonderland.

  15. mmaccallumhall says:

When I was little this was the first chapter book I ever really enjoyed . .This is in fact the second book in the series but I read this one first. When you finally read the first book they fit in really nicely with each over and over all connect throughout the entire series . They are pretty easy to read but sometimes the stories can get confusing. There are 7 books altogether and I have read every single one of them I even think I’ve read the lion the witch and the wardrobe twice. This book particularly is written in such detail that you think your walking through the fur coat wardrobe into a magical world covered in a thick layer of snow. This book is amazing and is good for younger people all the way up to adults.

  16. psolis says:

I really enjoyed this book at the beginning I already knew this will be a great book from the beginning if other people like adventure books they should read this but if they’ve seen the movie I think they should still read the book and compare it to the movie if there’s any difference

  35. ebarrett says:

I found this book exciting, adventurous and a good story. My favourite part in the book (also the movie) was the bit when they fought the queen. The book had lots of description about that part and in the movie when I watch that part I normally commentate it like a football match.
