Excellent story! I wish a tiger came to my house for some tea!! ZS
It was nice of them to buy food for the tiger but he never came again.
It was nice that the girl said that the tiger could come in. I wasnt nice of the tiger to eat all of the food and drank all the water. It was nice that they went out for dinner.
This tiger is so hungry he eats everything!
The tiger who went to tea is really funny because the tiger drank all of the tea and took some food from the floor to eat and that was disgusting and that why I love it sooooooooooo much

I liked it when the tiger knocked on the door. I thought it was a bad thing when the tiger ate all the food because then Sophie and her mum wouldn’t have any dinner and they’d be starving.
This book makes me use my imagination. I would like a tiger as a pet. The story makes me feel like an explorer. I don’t know how they found tiger food at the shops.

This book is perfect for all ages. It’s about a tiger who came to tea!My favourite part is where the

This book is about a tiger who comes to tea (hence the name) and eats all their food and drinks everything in the house. It has great illustrations and a good text although I don’t see how it drinks all the water in the tap. This is good for younger readers.
pJudith Kerr grew up in a Jewish family in Germany in the 1930s when Hitler and the Nazis came to power. Her father was critical of Hitler and books he wrote were burned by the Nazis and the family had to leave Germany for their safety. Judith has written a semi-autobiographical book for children about her experiences at this time, and subsequent life as a refugee, called When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit. You might like to read it – there are copies on the Library Bus. Some people have speculated that the tiger turning up at her house and taking things was influenced by her childhood experiences but she has denied that this is the case – and don’t you think that the tiger seems too friendly a presence for this to be true?
This is a really interesting review Lula – I enjoyed hearing about the speculation over its ‘true meaning’, but I also love it as a ‘straight-forward’ picture book!
the tiger who came to tea is aturrly a good book. I like when the tiger knok the door.

This book is about a family that a tiger visits. The tiger eats and drinks all the food and water in the house. The family gets a problem because they don’t have any food or water but then their daddy came home and had an idea. I like the characters but I think it could have a slightly better storyline.
